LAURIE CONVERTED ISLAM AND SHE IS SO HAPY NOW

a little bit
of my conversion to Islam.

In March 2001, I was a shattered and broken person who
was going through a very painful divorce to my first
husband who was verbally and emotionally abusive. I
had lost my job in January 2001 as the company laid
off most of its workers due to a recession in the
United States. I had also developed a drinking problem
to deal with the stress. I was a most unhappy and
shattered person who had no faith in myself or
anything. In April 2001 a devout Muslim physicist
Naim took me under his wing and challenged me to
convert to Islam as Allah could REBUILD the foundation
of my life one brick at a time. Naim taught me that
through complete faith in the one and only god Allah
my life could be restored to a far better way. In
April 2001, Allah opened my eyes and heart to the one
and only truth of Islam and I converted. I
immediately began to see things in a completly
different manner as if I was a blind person who had
been given the gift of sight for the first time and to
marvel at the greatness and omnipotence of the one and
only god Allah. Within a period of two months, I was
offered and accepted a position with Fifth Third Bank
where I have been ever since. My divorce to my
ex-husband was finalyzed in July 2001. On September
1, 2001 I met and fell in love with a devout Lebanese
Muslim, Abdul Halim Kanaan. We were married at the
local masjid in November 2001. Allah has bestowed so
many blessings onto my life that ALL I want to do is
to serve and please Allah in ALL my words, actions,
and deeds. It is sad that so many people do not
understand or open their hearts to the truth of Islam
which can free them as it did me: Islam freed me from
my own thinking. Allah akbar! Allah is great.
